Masala Prawns

Ingredients

1 small onion chopped

2 tomatoes- blanched and pureed

1 tablespoon tomato puree

4-5 garlic cloves

2-3 Thai red chillies

1 1/2  teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 lemon juice

500 grams prawns (shrimps) shelled, head off and deveined.

3 tablespoon oil

Method

marinate the prawns with 1/2 teaspoon  salt and 1 tablespoon lemon juice for half hour.

Puree the tomatoes along with garlic and red chillies.

Heat oil in a wok and add the onions, fry till soft and pinkish. Add the tomato mixture, tomato paste, turmeric and remaining salt and lemon juice. Cook on low heat till the gravy is thick.

Add the prawns and continue cooking for about 15-20 minutes making sure to cook the shrimps through. Check the seasoning, add salt if needed or lemon juice.
