This recipe brought many fond memories of when communities lived together despite each being different in person and belief. There was unity, selflessness and safety with each other.
In present days where trials and so much is going on , unfortunately we can not trust any religious leaders, elders, close relatives and friends with whom we are supposed to be safe with. Where are we headed when we can not trust each other or be safe with?
Preparation-
Grease well 9 inch square cake pan and line with parchment paper.
Measure out the ingredients.
Preheat oven at 350 Fahrenheit.
This is a very soft, sweet and buttery cake. Good as is and even better with a cup of tea and good company.
Ingredients and Method
250 grams soft butter (no option)
250 grams sugar
4 eggs
250 grams flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
1/2 cup milk
Method-
Sift flour along with baking powder.
Beat the butter and sugar till creamy and soft.
Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition. Add vanilla essence and beat for a minute to blend the flavor well.
Using a spatula fold in half the flour mixture, add the rest of the flour and gently fold it half way through, add the milk and continue folding till the flour and milk are well blended in. Be careful not overmix.
Pour into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes or till the cake springs up when lightly touched.
