Bread Buns

One thing I really enjoy making and eating is home-made buns…here is one recipe I enjoy and I hope you do too!

Ingredients makes about 6 rolls

3 Tablespoons butter
1/2 cup warm milk
2 Tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
2 Teaspoons dry yeast
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour and extra 1/4 cup
1 egg white for applying the top of the buns

In small bowl put the yeast and 2 tablespoon of milk, let it fluff.
In a mixing bowl add 1 1/2 cup flour, salt, sugar, butter, egg. Mix lightly till incorporated then add the yeast mixture and the left over milk. Knead till it becomes a soft ball. If sticky dust the extra 1/4 cup flour and continue to bring the dough together. Best way to knead is to work on the edge of the dough and bring it to the center. Make a nice ball, lightly grease a bowl and put the dough, cover it with Saran wrap ( cling wrap)for an hour to rise. Uncover and deflate the dough and make it into a rope. Cut in 6-8 pieces and either make it into round pieces with no seams or roll into long ropes and tie a knot. Arrange the buns on a greased tray, apply the egg white and let it rise for 1 hour. Preheat the oven at 350 F and bake the rolls  for 15-17 minutes or till golden. Serve warm…
