Ginger cookies

Ingredients:

250 grams butter

250 grams golden yellow sugar

500 grams all purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

1/8 teaspoon baking powder

8 teaspoon ginger powder

1 teaspoon chai masala (ground spices for tea)

200 grams golden syrup

Method:

Prepare the baking sheets by lining it with parchment paper.

Prepare the mixing machine with the paddle beater.

Measure out the butter and sugar in the mixing bowl.

Measure and sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger powder and tea masala in a separate bowl.

Beat Butter and sugar till soft and fluffy. Add the golden syrup and continue beating until it is well incorporated and light.

Add the flour mixture till well combined.

Remove on a clean surface and bring the dough together. Cut into three portions, make a ball of each portion and roll out on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness. Use any cookie cutter shapes to cut out the cookies and place on the cookie sheets.

Preheat the oven at 350 degree Fahrenheit, when the beep goes on put one cookie sheet at a time into the oven and bake the cookies for 16-18 minutes  for  the first batch . The next batches can be baked for 15 minutes.
