Meat Curry with Coconut Cassava

 

2 pounds veal/goat with bone cut in small pieces

2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon garam masala powder

2 cups crushed fresh tomatoes

3 teaspoon tomato paste

1 lemon juice

Heat oil in a pot on medium heat and put all the above , reduce the heat to setting of 3 gas mark. Stir the meat curry , cover with a lid and let it cook for about 15 minutes. 

Stir and check the water content, if needed add about 2 cups to cook the meat.

Stir occasionally, it takes about 30-45 minutes for the meat to cook till tender.

While the meat is cooking you can prepare the cassava

Coconut Cassava

2 pounds frozen cassava

3 cups water

2 teaspoon salt

Boil the above till the cassava is soft.

For the cassava-

1 & 1/2cup light coconut milk.

1 small onion sliced

2-3 green chillies slit lengthwise

1 tomato thinly sliced

1/2 cup thick coconut milk

Put the above in the boiled cassava and cook for about 20 minute, stirring occasionally.

Pour the thick coconut milk into the cassava, stir and serve in a plate alongside the meat curry.

Put the cassava on your plate and layer it with meat curry. Enjoy!

The onions and tomato should be soft.
