Apple Fritters

Fall-apples, pumpkins, carrots, leaves changing color ( different shades from yellow, orange to red!) smell of fresh ground spices and baked goods….mmmm so comforting ?

With apples in season these fritters are quick to make for an afternoon snack or as dessert. The smell of freshly ground cinnamon and warm fritters with tea make a perfect yummy to the tummy!

2 cups flour, sifted
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon freshly ground cinnamon

½ cup brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped ( I like tarty apples, usually known as cooking apples)
1 cup milk to mix
Oil to deep fry.
½ cup Icing sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder to sprinkle.
Mix all the above ingredients to make a dropping consistency batter. Heat the oil  (check by putting a drop of the batter into the oil, if it floats up in two seconds, it’s ready). Spoon the batter into the hot oil and fry till till golden ,make sure to turn it so it cooks well on all sides. Remove the fried fritters on a dish lined with paper towel to drain the oil. When slightly warm, sprinkle the icing sugar mixture on it.Serve.
This is totally not baked but it is soo good!?
